Meeting Jesus

Who is Jesus?

Very few people doubt that a man called Jesus existed and that he walked and talked in Israel over two thousand years ago. Equally so most would agree that he was put to death as a common criminal but what happened next is the subject of much debate. Almost every major religion teaches that Jesus was a prophet or a good teacher or a godly man; the Bible tells us that Jesus was infinitely more.

Jesus himself said that he would die and then come back to life. Is he mad? If he didn’t, was he deceiving everyone and just plain bad? C.S. Lewis wrote that Jesus forces us to make a choice; Jesus cannot be just a good, moral teacher, he doesn’t leave us that choice. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God, or else a madman or something worse. You can shut him up for fool, you can spit at him and kill him as a demon; or you can fall at his feet and call him Lord and God. Who is Jesus to you?
