At a crucial point in Israel’s history, Joshua challenged the people to decide who they were going to commit to follow – the idols of Egypt or the God of Israel. He called on them to renew their covenant with God. At stake was the promised land in Canaan. We too, are challenged to decide who we are going to follow – not just in terms of the land we live in today, but also our commitment to the promised land to come.
